On behalf of the entire Canadian POS Corporation team, we’d like to wish you all a happy Easter long weekend! No matter what you have planned for the following three days, we hope that it’s an enjoyable time spent with family and friends. We also hope that, as a business owner, you were able to properly cash in on the fact that the holiday was on its way.

How can you cash in on the Easter holiday?

Well, much the same way you would for any other holiday, of course! Business owners all over Canada tend to launch advertising campaigns that promote special sales, discounts and events surrounding approaching holidays. We imagine that over the course of the past few weeks, you have implemented the impending Easter holiday into your marketing efforts.

We also imagine you were able to boost your gift card sales. But if you haven’t yet added gift cards to your list of available products, we’re sorry to say that you’ve certainly missed out. Just like for any other holiday, gift cards make excellent gifts for Easter. Of course, chocolate in the form of eggs and bunnies are highly popular treats for the kids. But don’t ever assume that kids don’t love gift cards too!

On GiftCards.com, Shelley Hunter reveals a long list of gift cards that kids love as Easter gifts. Among them are gift cards for movies. “When my younger kids received movie gift cards for Christmas, they complained that the gift should have been given to me since I don’t typically make them pay for their own movies,” she writes, “But now that my kids are a little older, they like having movie gift cards so they do not have to ask me for money when they want to see a movie with friends.”

Treating the kids to yummy eats is never a bad idea.

Gift cards for restaurants are popular for just about everyone. You’d be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t enjoy a good meal as a gift. And gift cards provide restaurants all over Canada with the ability to cash in on the fact that food always makes for a great gift. Both kids and adults love dining out at restaurants. Hunter points out that treating the kids to one of their favourite eateries can go a long way this Easter.

“Now that I have a child in middle school and one in high school, I’m finding that each wants the freedom to ‘dine’ with friends like us big people do,” reveals Hunter, “Rather than handing over a ten dollar bill, give your tween or teenager a gift card to a favourite hangout. Like the ice cream gift card suggestion above, you do not have to spend a great deal of money to make these gift cards usable.”

If your business hasn’t been able to take advantage of this weekend’s Easter gift-giving festivities, make it the last time you lose out! For more information about how you can begin selling gift cards in your store, call Canadian POS Corporation at 1-877-748-2884 or email us at info@localhost.
