Our Clients And Colleagues Talk Credit Card Convenience

\"dinner“If I didn’t have my credit card on me, things would have really gone bad.” This was a comment provided by one of our colleagues earlier this week when describing a recent trip he took to Miami. He realized a little too late that he didn’t have enough cash on hand for a taxi ride to the airport at the end of his trip. So he ended up using the credit card that he had stowed away in his travel bag “for emergencies”.

“Originally, I didn’t intend on using it,” he admits, “But now I realize that there’s no reason not to.” When people travel, they tend to change the cash that they have into the currency of the country that they are traveling to. But isn’t this already an inconvenience itself? When consumers use credit cards to pay for their purchases, they don’t need to worry about the entire currency conversion thing. Their credit card companies do it for them.

Furthermore, credit cards get you out of binds. You never know when an emergency will arise. As well, you never know when you’ll simply run out of cash. “The taxi driver didn’t look too impressed when I told him that I didn’t have enough cash on me,” our friend reported, “When I remembered that I that I had my credit card, I was so relieved. He looked a lot more relieved too!”

These days, it’s not uncommon for taxi drivers to accept credit cards. Terminals are available in wide variety of sources so that they don’t need to be plugged into a wall anymore. At Canadian POS Corporation, we offer a number of wireless terminals that allow our clients to accept credit and debit card payments with great mobility. It provides quite the convenience for merchants of all kinds. This is especially true for restaurant owners.

“My service has quite improved since I adopted wireless machines at my place,” offered one of our clients earlier this week. As a restaurateur for many years, he recalls the days when things were a bit different. “I remember having to take the credit cards from the customers,” he says, “There were a few incidents when they would get mixed up. The last thing you want is for the customers to think that you’re cheating them.”

Many restaurant patrons are thankful that they no longer have to give up their credit cards to their servers. “I hated it,” mentioned another colleague of ours this week, “I always wondered what they were doing with it back there. For all I know, they could have racked up charges on the internet. I’m glad that never happened to me but you never know. I just prefer to have my credit card on me at all times to avoid fraud.”

Speaking to our clients and colleagues on a regular basis really helps to give us insight, here at Canadian POS Corporation. Of course, we know how important it is for Canadian business owners to accept credit and debit cards as methods of payment. But the constant reminders help us to remain firm to our mission statement.
